Understanding medication management

Medication management means working with a licensed prescriber to figure out whether medication may help, and then monitoring it carefully over time. It is often used alongside therapy rather than as a replacement for it.

A first visit usually starts with an evaluation of your symptoms and history. If medication is appropriate, your provider explains what to expect, checks in during follow-up visits, and adjusts the plan as needed. Never stop a psychiatric medication abruptly without talking to your provider first.

Decisions about medication are always made by a licensed provider based on your specific situation. This page is for information only and does not prescribe or diagnose.

Medication Management

What medication management can help with

  • Medication evaluation

A licensed prescriber reviews your symptoms and history to see whether medication may help.

  • Starting a new medication

Guidance on what to expect in the first weeks after starting something new.

  • Follow-up visits

Ongoing check-ins to track how a medication is working and adjust carefully over time.

  • Side effect questions

A place to raise concerns about side effects before you decide to stop on your own.

  • Anxiety and depression

Medication support for anxiety, depression, and mood concerns when appropriate.

  • Coordination with therapy

Medication management that works alongside talk therapy, not instead of it.

When to consider reaching out

  • You are already on a medication and need ongoing monitoring
  • You have questions about side effects or timing
  • Therapy alone has not been enough and you want to explore options
  • You want a licensed provider to review your history before deciding anything

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Who prescribes the medication?

Licensed prescribers evaluate your symptoms, review options with you, and monitor treatment over time. This page is informational and does not prescribe or diagnose.

Will I definitely be prescribed something?

No. Medication is one option among several, and it is never guaranteed. Your provider decides what is appropriate after an evaluation.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept most commercial insurance plans. Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted at this time. Our team usually verifies your benefits before confirming your visit.

What if I want to stop my medication?

Talk to your provider first. Stopping some psychiatric medications abruptly can cause withdrawal or a return of symptoms. Your provider can help you taper safely if that is the right step.

How does the first visit work?

Tell us what you need, choose a provider or request availability, and our team verifies insurance before confirming your appointment.

How do I book an appointment?

Choose "Book Appointment" to start in our secure portal — pick a provider and time, share your details, and our team verifies your insurance before confirming. You can also call (888) 877-7022 for help.

How much does self-pay cost?

Self-pay is available: $350 for an initial session and $200 for returning sessions. We also accept most commercial insurance plans; Medicaid and Medicare are not accepted at this time.
